Bonus: Preaparing for rain with purpose

The Passive vs. the Purposeful:

There were once two farmers who lived side by side in a season of drought. Both prayed earnestly for rain — pleading with heaven to open the skies.

But while one farmer stayed in his house, waiting for clouds to form, the other rose early each morning, went out to his fields,

and began preparing the soil — breaking up the hard ground, clearing weeds, repairing fences, and planting seed in faith that rain would come.

Weeks passed. The sun still burned. The air stayed dry. Neighbors shook their heads and said, “Why waste your time? There’s no sign of rain.”

The farmer smiled and replied, “I’m not preparing because I see clouds. I’m preparing because I believe.”

And then, one evening, the wind shifted. The air changed. The rain came, fast and full.

And when it did, only one farmer’s field was ready to receive it.

The Foot and a Half Reflection:

There’s an 18-inch gap between the head that prays and the heart that prepares. One farmer knew rain might come; the other believed it would...enough to act on it.

Faith moves from head to heart when it puts hands to work. That’s the Foot and a Half difference...bridging belief and behavior, intention and action, knowledge and obedience.

The Leadership Lesson:

God sends the rain, but He trusts us to prepare the fields. The season of waiting is never wasted when it’s spent cultivating readiness. Discipline, consistency, and faith-filled action are the plow, seed, and water of a life ready for growth.

Your Challenge:

How's the journey between your head and heart? Are you passively postponing or purposefully preparing for rain? Much love to you on your foot and a half journey!
